We recently visited Yorkshire with our friend Emily. There we learned that the stereotype of Northerners as being aggressively friendly is largely true, and that the Yorkshire Dales may be even prettier than the Lake District (though not as nice as Cornwall, which remains our favorite part of England so far -- to visit, that is).
Mainly, though, we learned that the tourism industry's capability for shameless exploitation knows no boundaries. To wit, enjoy these photos of "Bronte Country":
